Zendesk Introduces Single Sign-on Capabilities for Google and Facebook
May 20, 2011
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – May 20, 2011 – Zendesk, the leading provider of proven, cloud-based help desk software, today announced Google and Facebook Single Sign-on for Zendesk. Companies can now access Zendesk through either a Google or Facebook login. These new features make customer engagement easier by removing the barrier of having to remember multiple passwords across applications.
Organizations can now access their Zendesk by using their Google sign-on, which they already use to run their business applications. This eliminates the hassle of logging in and out of different applications. Facebook users also benefit because they can easily access a companys Zendesk site using the same identities they use to log into the social networking site.
Multiple usernames and passwords are not only difficult to remember, but also inefficient when operating a business or when a customer simply wants a fast answer to his questions, said Zack Urlocker, chief operating officer at Zendesk. “Google and Facebook Single Sign-on for Zendesk are the latest addition to Zendesk’s SSO integrations, which also include Windows Active Directory, SAML, OneLogin, and OpenID.”
“Our organization is standardized on Google Apps for email, collaboration and documents, said Tim Drury, chief executive officer at White Stratus. The new single sign-on feature frees up our support agents from a multiple login process, making it faster and easier because they dont have to remember additional passwords. It is critical that we have streamlined, efficient processes for important parts of our business like customer service, and Zendesk enables this.
