Zendesk Doubles Customer Base in German-Speaking Countries and Strengthens Team with First Regional Director
March 21, 2013
BERLIN, GERMANY – March 21, 2013 – Zendesk (de.zendesk.com) enjoyed a record-breaking year in 2012 and plans to grow in Central and Eastern Europe. The company now has 7,500 customers in Europe alone, with more than 1,000 of these in German-speaking countries. The latest sign of its commitment here is the opening of a data center specifically for the European market, which was also announced today. To keep pace with the rapid growth of Zendesk, particularly in Europe, the company is strengthening its team with its addition of industry expert Steffen Teske starting April 1, 2013.
The 34-year-old has been appointed Director for Central and Eastern Europe. Steffen Teske will build a sales organization for the customer service solution provider in German-speaking countries, as well as in Eastern Europe and Russia, to promote the further growth of the company. In addition, he will also manage major customers for Zendesk in these markets. Teske will report to Zendesks VP and General Manager for EMEA, Matt Price.
Matt Price, VP and General Manager for EMEA at Zendesk, says: More and more companies in German-speaking countries opt for dynamic customer service software from the cloud, like Zendesks. This is reflected in our numbers: In the last twelve months we have doubled our customer base in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to currently more than 1,000 customers. With a German version of Zendesk, a local training team and customer service as well as the appointment of Steffen Teske announced today, we are investing heavily in the region in order to provide our customers with even better support in reaching their goals.
About Steffen Teske:
Steffen Teske has held a number of senior positions in the IT and telecommunications industry in recent years. He spent seven years at BT (Germany) GmbH & Co. oHG, first as Head of CRM, Germany & Austria, and later as Regional Director, and achieved profitable sales growth in the business areas he was responsible for. Previously, he worked at Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories GmbH (at that time a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alcatel Lucent) and Cognos GmbH.
