November 27, 2017

Software veteran brings deep, versatile experience developing enterprise-level products, scaling global multi-product organizations

SAN FRANCISCO – November 27, 2017 – Zendesk, Inc. (NYSE: ZEN) announced today the appointment of Mike Frandsen to its Board of Directors. Frandsen brings more than three decades of enterprise product development experience from companies like Workday, DemandTec (acquired by IBM) and PeopleSoft (acquired by Oracle). He is currently executive director of products at Workday.

“Mike brings valuable product development experience to us from Workday, where he is responsible for scaling massive engineering teams to build powerful, reliable, and market-leading products that empower enterprises to solve complex problems,” said Mikkel Svane, CEO, founder & chairman, Zendesk. “His experience will round out the diversely talented board we already have, as we continue to chart a very exciting future for Zendesk.”

Prior to joining Workday in 2010, Frandsen was CEO at Potenco, a green energy startup. Before that, he was CEO at TradePoint Solutions, a provider of SaaS-based retail promotion management applications. He led TradePoint from delivery of a successful product prototype to the sale of the company to DemandTec in 2006 (which was then acquired by IBM in 2011). He holds a B.S. in Business from the University of Colorado.

“Zendesk’s vision for the future of customer relationships truly excites me,” said Frandsen. “The time is ripe for a tectonic shift in how enterprises will use technology to build better relationships with their customers — and Zendesk is in the middle of it. I am thrilled to be a part of this journey.”
