Zendesk Announces Third Annual Tech for Good Impact Award Winners

The Zendesk Foundation has announced the winners of its third annual Tech for Good Impact Awards, celebrating 20 innovative nonprofit organizations dedicated to creating meaningful change. The 2024 application invited nonprofits worldwide to share how Zendesk technology and grants would empower them to expand their reach, serve more people, and maximize their social impact.

The Impact Awards highlights organizations working to address critical gaps in services across a broad spectrum of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), tackling issues from poverty alleviation to sustainable supply chains. This year’s awardees will join the Tech for Good program, receiving substantial grants, pro-bono support resources, and complimentary Zendesk software to accelerate their missions.

Empowering Nonprofits with Technology and Resources

Chosen from nearly 500 global applicants, these 20 organizations stood out for their innovative use of technology to drive scalable, lasting change. Aligned with the Zendesk Foundation’s mission, each awardee is dedicated to promoting resilience, strengthening underserved communities, and expanding pathways to tech careers for those who need it most.

The awarded organizations span a variety of essential services:

  • Aqui Estoy Chat is an innovative digital platform that delivers essential emotional support to Spanish-speaking communities.
  • Bean Voyage builds thriving businesses with smallholder women coffee farmers in Latin America.
  • Borderlands Resource Initiative is supporting and advocating for migrants and asylum seekers at the U.S. Southwest border.
  • National Center for Disasters and Epidemiological Emergencies (CENACED) focuses on strengthening a better culture of prevention, self-care and self-protection for under-resourced communities in the face of disasters and epidemiological contingencies.
  • Develop for Good supports teams of underserved and underrepresented college students as they build software for nonprofits under industry mentorship.
  • Digital NEST’s mission is to provide underserved Latinx youth in California with the skills, resources, and network to build and launch successful careers.
  • FINCA International helps people around the world build their own pathway out of poverty with financial empowerment and impact investing.
  • Forward Inc. creates pathways for newcomers and displaced people to achieve economic self-reliance and social integration into their new communities.
  • Hello World builds Hello Hubs across Asia and Africa that provide outdoor, internet-connected, solar powered domes with touch screens and educational software.
  • Human Rights First is committed to actualizing free and equal societies, grounded in the belief that every person deserves respect, value, and investment.
  • Justicia Lab is an immigrant justice technology lab with a mission to transform immigrant justice through collaboration, creativity, and technology.
  • Magic Bus India provides life skills education and employability skills to enable youth and adolescents to complete their secondary education and secure sustainable jobs.
  • Mercy Corps is a global team of humanitarians working together on the front lines of today’s biggest crises to create a future of possibility, where everyone can prosper.
  • Mobiklinic Foundation Uganda is increasing access to quality healthcare for vulnerable groups in low-income communities by providing digital training for Community Healthcare Professionals.
  • Red Dot Foundation is fighting gender-based violence by providing data-backed, collective action through their Safecity platform.
  • {reprograma} aims to bring more diversity to the tech industry by empowering women of color and other marginalized groups with IT and tech education training, helping participants gain the skills needed to transform their lives and careers.
  • Talent Beyond Boundaries connects displaced people with international job opportunities, producing win-win-win results for refugees, employers, and economies.
  • US Chamber of Commerce Foundation resilience initiatives advances business preparedness for natural disasters, humanitarian crises, and public health threats.
  • Vitala Global provides digital solutions to support women, girls and gender-diverse people where there is a lack of access to essential sexual and reproductive health services across Venezuela and the U.S.
  • Wastezon Rwanda is redefining the future of urban mining by turning e-waste into quality-vetted, low-cost refurbished devices for low-income consumers.

“This group of 20 grantees fills essential gaps in the social impact landscape that is not or cannot be filled by government or for profit companies. These remarkable organizations work tirelessly on the frontlines, advocating for asylum seekers, expanding resources for underserved women, and addressing pressing challenges in disaster-prone or economically disadvantaged areas.
